In the future I will use the skills that I have gain from Asian Media Access. Either from taking pictures or photo editing these will be a great skill that will help me if I want to go into the Photography Area. Also I gained more brochure and postcard skills that I didn’t know until Asian Media Access helped me out, if I was to use this skill in the future I will use it as making business cards, personal brochures etc.. We also researched a lot about new topics every week so this will also come in handy when I need to research papers or use references either for school or work.

I went to the celebration yesterday but I didn’t get my certificate because they never gave it to me when I signed in. But overall it was a fun time, especially when the two STEP -UP interns spoke it was funny. Also when Major R.T. Ryback was dancing with the Lunstrum Group. After that we saw the STEP-UP video and when we were done watching the video we left and got cookies from The Cookie Cart they were good but one of the cookies made my throat hurt.
During this summer I worked with Asian Media Access through STEP-UP. We learned a lot of new things about what schools talk to students about when they are, like for example: STI, Drugs, How to put on a condom, STI preventions, College, Beauty, Body image/Obesity, Love, etc.. Although I already know some information about this they have taught me new information and how to deal with the problem. Also, we also gain computer art designs from making postcards, brochures, and power points. We learn to use Sumo Paint to create pictures or fix the picture.
The topic (s) that I liked the most was college and going canoeing with the boys, there was three from our group, at least eight or ten from another, and at least there was thirty students in total. It was a fum day to remember about. The topic (s) that I disliked the most was probably the STI week and Body Image because it’s weird looking at girls and guys that think they look different from what everybody else see.
These past few days we have been learning about HIV/AIDS etc.. I learned what they stand for Like for HIV it stands for Human Immunodeficient Virus, ad AIDS stand for Acquired Immune deficient Symptoms. We learned a lot about those two things today, HIV can be transferred through blood, needles, and body fluids. Today July 25, 2011 I got tested for HIV and turned out Negative which is a good thing, that means I don’t have HIV. Well on Friday, A women named May came in and told us about STD and HIV, and how to use protection if we are going to have sexual contact with the opposite sex or the same sex. She taught us about condoms and what you can get if you don’t use condoms, she also taught us how to put one on and what to do if your done using the condom.
Yesterday, the boys went canoeing! It was fun and tiring bu the fun park was the race. My group (me) messed up and dropped back bu we eventually got back to first and won the race, we got to eat first which was good. Then we went swimming and it was fun, the Asians were playing tag and infection. Travone and Me were canoeing and two 15 year old girls named Hannah and Amber were trying to flirt with us but the looked too young for their age so we didn’t bother. Then after that we came back to the start and came home.
Today was interesting! We learned about HIV, AIDS, etc.. involving with teen sex and teen pregnancies. I learned that most of the “protecting” gear for the sex is mostly for women because they haven’t found a good one for the men yet. We got candy and did different activities which the training! The training was very nice, after we did all that and it was time for her to go she gave us gift cards and baggies of candy.
The ways that I cope with peer pressure is this, I try to avoid it and go he opposite way, I go to the right lace and be there at the right time, or I just simply tell them if you can’t do it and your older why can I? these are some things I say to do or say to my peers. If they are trying to pressure me into doing something I don’t want to do I simply just tone them out and just tell them I have to go home or something like that. Peer pressure is bad!
