Yesterday was the big Step-Up get together, It was full & the mayor said that this year was the highest amount of people apply for jobs this year ! I also was there long enough to see the step-up … dancer dance & i watch the mayor join them. ! it was a good time ! & i’m looking to go back next year(:

One of the topics that were worked on last week was control and power. I think that anyone can have control and power if the other person isn’t strong-willed enough or confident enough to step up to the person in control and power. Depending on the amount of understanding of communication between partners, I think that power and control can vary. Very often when people hear about power and control, they’ll think that it’s the men in power and control. But it can go either way with men and women. It’s because of the cases that are reported in. Most of those reports, the women will be the victim and the men will be in control and power. The saying goes, “Everything a men can do, a women can do better.” In a way, when women are in control, sometimes it can be a lot worse compared to when men are in control. But everyone has their own opinions, this is just my thinking of power and control.

During this summer I worked with Asian Media Access through STEP-UP. We learned a lot of new things about what schools talk to students about when they are, like for example: STI, Drugs, How to put on a condom, STI preventions, College, Beauty, Body image/Obesity, Love, etc.. Although I already know some information about this they have taught me new information and how to deal with the problem. Also, we also gain computer art designs from making postcards, brochures, and power points.We learn to use Sumo Paint to create pictures or fix the picture.

The topic (s) that I liked the most was college and going canoeing with the boys, there was three from our group, at least eight or ten from another, and at least there was thirty students in total. It was a fum day to remember about. The topic (s) that I disliked the most was probably the STI week and Body Image because it’s weird looking at girls and guys that think they look different from what everybody else see.

we went to the step up party we got our certificate’s from them.Then we watch the people dance. and the Mayer talked to us. they talked about how this year was the highest amount of kids this year that singed up this year

The celebration was very interesting they had good dancers that i enjoyed and they made me laugh and the mayors speech was very inspirational and it was pretty fun!

The step-up celebration yesterday was really interesting. I think that the best part was the 80’s dance. There were a few boring parts.Even thought none of our pictures were presented in the slide show it was still nice. The mayor was funny.

When i went to the celebration  it was fun and the dancers were really good. The speakers were very funny  and they had good speeches. R.T. Ryback seems like a really cool person and he’s a good mayor and his speech was also really good. I was happy that I went.
